This article communicates the research that studies whether or not a continuous training program (CTP) for teachers of mathematics, based on reflective learning, favors a change to “learner-centered” teaching of mathematics. This study forms part of and uses the results of an extended research on the Panamanian teacher’s educational strategies and beliefs in mathematics at secondary level. Evidence of the possibilities and difficulties of change in their teaching practices is shown from the quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
