This article aims to answer the following question: What mobilizations are being carried out by GHEMAT in the field of the History of Mathematics Education for the conservation of elements from school cultures? For this, the different interpretations of the expression school culture in the view of some authors are presented (Chervel, 1988; Julia, 2001; Viñao, 2007). Next, an experience is presented regarding the mobilizations that the Research Group on the History of Mathematics Education in Brazil (GHEMAT) has been carrying out to preserve documents that refer to school culture, especially the mobilization of students' and teachers' school notebooks in the period from 1890 to 1970, and which technological tool has contributed to conserving the sources that contribute to advances in research.
