This study has as its objective to characterize the cognitive processes which intervene in the solution of geometrical problems and generate a theoretical model which helps to interpret the interactions of said processes. It centers particularly on the characterization of the coordination of visualization and reasoning processes proposed by Duval (1998). The theoretical model which is proposed results from the analysis of the answers given by students teachers to a collection of geometrical problems.
