Since its foundation, the Latin American Journal of Research in Educational Mathematics (Relime) has been part of a broad disciplinary project whose action measures have been led by active groups of members of a community of reference: Educational Mathematics in Latin America. The magazine arises with a dual objective; that of promoting and fostering the writing of high-quality research articles in the region, as well as favoring the process of professionalizing the discipline for the benefit of educational systems in Latin America (Farfán, 1997). This objective, although not yet fully achieved, has been a development factor in the region and in the world.
