
The objective of this research was to identify content knowledge: correlation and regression (common, advanced and specialized) in a sample of 65 future teachers of Compulsory Secondary Education and Baccalaureate. To do this, their written answers were analyzed in different tasks related to a statistical project based on data from the United Nations. The results indicate good estimation of the correlation and identification of the adjustment function (common knowledge), correction in the ordering of the explanatory variables according to their predictive power and greater difficulty in explaining the correlation by relationships other than causality (advanced knowledge) and a reasonable analysis of the didactic suitability of the project (specialized knowledge). Some biases and the effect of task variables on responses are also reported.
